Summer Head Gear

Summer Head Gear

Summer is the perfect time to get away with exciting head gear you would not normally wear! My favourite summer head essential is the summer hat. This year I have opted for a Tribury hat from River Island and a large white floppy hat from (believe it or not) Tesco! The Tesco hat (pictured below) has been one of my best summer finds both in terms of quality and price, costing me a purse-friendly £8.

Kimono Krazy

Kimonos are a necessity for summer! The oriental trend is so hot right now! The traditional Japanese piece, usually ankle length and historically worn for special occasions, was given the Western edge with a shorter length and such a variety of patterns and colours.

Pretty Little Thing.

The Maxi Kimono
This year, it is all about the MAXI kimono:

Both Boohoo (yellow and blue)

Boohoo has completely nailed the maxi kimono trend. At a very reasonable £20.00 a piece, you can get your hands on both of this seasons key colour trends: neon and pastel.
I can't decide which one I prefer!

Missguided

I am completely lusting after this amazing white lace kimono from my favourite online retailer, Missguided. This bohemian lace number screams Grecian goddess and is so versatile as it can be worn over your swimwear or with a dress and gladiators in the evening! I will definitely be purchasing this number before my holiday!

Flower Crowns and Garlands

Flower Crowns and Garlands have become a fast growing summer essential. Originally worn mainly for festivals and weddings, flower crowns have now become much more versatile with many styles available, suitable for any summer occasion. This summer I am obsessed with flower garlands, and as far as I'm concerned the bigger the better.

For a truly bohemian look team with a maxi dress! Flower garlands add effortless detail to any outfit.
If you cannot find any flower garlands you like on the high street, many Instagram users create hand made garlands to your preference/ colour choice etc. Just search the hashtag flower garland! Flower garlands can also be made yourself, just follow a DIY flower garland blog, my favourite is:

Hand-made or specially made flower garlands are perfect for special occasions such as weddings or if you simply want a one off piece. However, be prepared for a more costly flower garland if it is being hand-made.

If you're not entirely convinced by the trend but want to try it out, the high-street is offering many simple and small flower garlands (often on a head band). I have linked some of my favourites below!

Boohoo's Affordable Flower Crowns

Boohoo has mastered the flower crown trend at an affordable price. My personal pick is the Sunflower headband (below) as I LOVE vibrant colours such as yellow in Summer.

Summer Occasion Wear

Summer is the season for occasions, whether is be a Regatta, the races or a summer party. However, with so much available on the hughstreet it becomes am extremely tedious task to filter through the hundreds of dresses.

After attending the Royal Ascot, I have been feeling extremely inspired. So many girls looked absolutely stunning and had perfected the ‘Ascot’ look. If you are attending any races, a fascinator or hat is an essential, as it seriously glans up your look as well as making you feel amazing.

My favourite looks were the simple understated shift style dresses, and I couldn't help but ask some girls where their dresses were from. Zara is perfect for this simple and classic look which is timeless, and with their huge summer sale on it's easy to pick up an amazing dress at a reasonable price.

When it comes to colour keep it simple, I opted for white along with several of my friends also opting for white or just off-white. White and cream are fail safe, they look great with a tan and they allow you to explore with a large colour pallet as they go with everything.

My white missguided lace midi was a last minute buy, and at only £24.99 was definitely a great find!

I also saw some completely disastrous looks! AVOID wearing two bright colours (I saw an awful fluorescent orange and lime green look!!) and stick to simple colours. If you have opted for a bright dress, team it with a simple nude court shoe to keep is classy.
